Development of selected vocabulary in the area of cleanliness and hygiene

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce s názvem „Vývoj vybrané slovní zásoby v oblasti hygieny a čistoty“ se zabývá proměnami slovní zásoby souvisejícími s různými hláskovými změnami, ale postihuje i společenské a kulturní proměny a potřebu vyšší úrovně vyjadřování. Práce porovnává současný stav jazyka se středověkým, jakými změnami prošel jazyk jako celek, a také jak se vybraná slova změnila. Cílem je zjistit, jestli jsou v porozumění slovům lepší studenti Pedagogické fakulty se zaměřením na český jazyk, nebo ostatní studenti vysokých škol stejného věku. Data jsou sbírána pomocí dotazníků, ve kterých jsou otevřené otázky, studenti tedy nemají žádnou nápovědu v podobě možností pro odpověď. Dotazník byl sestaven tak, aby svou strukturou odpovídal kvantitativnímu sběru dat. Práce se věnuje výzkumu slov v oblasti hygieny a čistoty, zkoumá porozumění slovní zásoby ze strany studentů. Vzhledem k absolvovaným předmětům na pedagogické fakultě by měli studenti českého jazyka vykazovat lepší výsledky oproti ostatním studentům. Přínosem této práce je tedy bádání, které odráží kvalitu znalostí nabytých na Pedagogické fakultě.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis entitled "Development of selected vocabulary in the field of hygiene and cleanliness" deals with changes in vocabulary related to various phonetic changes, but also affects social and cultural changes and the need for a higher level of expression. The work compares the current state of the language with the medieval one, what changes the language has gone through, and also how the selected words have changed. The goal is to discover whether students of the Faculty of Education majoring in the Czech language are better at understanding words in the area hygiene and cleanliness than other students at universities of the same age. Data are collected using open-ended questionnaires, so students are not given any guidance in the form of answer options. The questionnaire was compiled in such a way that its structure corresponded to quantitative data collection. The thesis deals with the research of words in the field of hygiene and cleanliness, examines the students' understanding of vocabulary, given the subjects completed at the Faculty of Education, students of the Czech language should show better results compared to other students. The contribution of this work is research that reflects the quality of knowledge acquired at the Faculty of Education.
