Analysis of IT company management with a focus on the service department

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se tematicky zaměřuje na řízení IT firmy. Analyzuje oblasti řízení IT firmy, které byly autorkou vybrány. Konkrétně se zaměřuje na oblasti servisního oddělení v IT firmě, ve kterém autorka pracuje. Hlavním cílem této práce je vytvoření návrhu úlohy Řízení servisního oddělení dle portálu MBI. Celá práce se opírá o strukturu podobných úloh, které jsou v tomto portálu již zpracovány. V analýzách obecných a specifických oblastí řízení IT firmy byly využity jak elektronické a tištěné odborné zdroje, tak i zkušenosti autorky. Přínosem této práce je tedy navržená úloha Řízení servisního oddělení, která reflektuje zkušenosti autorky v tomto oboru. V úvodu se práce zaměřuje na pojem IT služeb a s ním spojené charakteristiky. Dále pokračuje vysvětlením strategického řízení a jeho procesu, které čtenáře uvádí do nejvyšší úrovně řízení IT firmy. Poté se v práci analyzují obecné oblasti řízení – jako jsou finance, prodej, marketing atd., následovanými oblastmi specifickými. Do práce byly vybrány oblasti řízení vývoje, projektů a bezpečnosti. Samotný návrh úlohy je v závěru práce společně také s analýzou firmy AB, která poskytla praxi autorce na servisním oddělení.

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on IT company management and leadership. It provides analysis of specific parts of management, chosen by author. In praticular, thesis is focused on IT services area in service department of IT company, author’s employer. Main goal of this document is to create template of Service department leadership based on MBI portal. Whole thesis is based similar documents structure, which can be found of mentioned portal. Personal experience, printed and online resources were used in general and specific analysis of IT company leadership. Service department leadership draft is main goal of this thesis, which is based on personal author’s professional experience. Introduction of thesis is focused in concept and characteristics of IT services, followed by explanation of strategic leadership and it`s processes. This part introduces readers into highest level of IT company leadership. Next part provides analysis general leadership areas – e.g. finance, sales, marketing, followed by specific areas. Leadership of three specific areas - development, project and security - were chosen into a thesis. Concept itself is, as last part of this thesis, combined with company “AB” analysis. Company “AB” provided personal job experience on its service department to the author.
