History and Current Technology of Payment Security Features and their Use in Forensic Activities

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá tématem Historie a současné technologie ochranných prvků platidel a jejich využití ve forenzní činnosti. Úvod práce pojednává o historii platidel a historii ochranných prvků platidel. Hlavní aspekty práce jsou současné technologie ochranných prvků platidel, a to jak českých, tak zahraničních platidel. V následující kapitole jsou přiblíženy pojmy padělání, pozměňování a napodobování peněz, které jsou staré, jako peníze samotné, a jedná se o celosvětový problém. Padělky bankovek, mincí a platebních karet jsou stále nebezpečnější a věrohodnější. Na druhé straně se stále zdokonalují ochranné prvky a jejich technologie. Také jsou zde přiblíženy způsoby zkoumání padělaných peněz, zejména bankovek. Práce se obecněji věnuje také skimmingu, což jsou útoky na bankomaty. Na závěr práce jsou uvedeny praktické případy padělání na území Karlovarského kraje.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focus on the history and current technologies of protection of currency elements and their use in forensic activity. And introduction of the paper deals with history and elements of currency. The main aspects of the thesis are the current technology of protection of currency, both Czech and foreign currency. The following chapter deals with the concepts of counterfeiting, falsifying and imitating money that are old, like money itself, and which relate to the problem are discussed. Counterfeit banknotes, coins and payment cards are becoming more dangerous and plausible. On the other hand the security features and their technology are still defended. There are also described ways of examining counterfeit money, especially banknotes. The work more generally deals with skimming as are attacks on ATMs. At the end of the paper are suitable cases of counterfeiting in the Karlovy Vary region.
