The incidence of self-harm in girls placed in the diagnostic Institute

Abstract:

Tématem diplomové práce výskyt sebepoškozování u dívek umístěných v diagnostickém ústavu pro mládež. V teoretické části jsem zanalyzovala dostupnou literaturu a shrnula informace o sebepoškozování. Vzhledem k pojmové nejednotnosti a rozdílnosti vnímání problematiky záměrného sebepoškozování jsem uvedla několik definic českých i zahraničních autorů. Některými autory je sebepoškozování vnímáno jako součást suicidální problematiky, proto jsem charakterizovala tyto dva termíny. Dále popisuji specifika záměrného sebepoškozování v zařízeních výchovného charakteru a zároveň vymezuji sebepoškozování jako copingovou strategii. Vymezuji Diagnostický ústav pro mládež a jeho klientelu. Výzkumná část práce je zaměřena na analýzu pobytu v zařízení a zhodnocení jeho efektivity u dívek s problematikou sebepoškozování. Jako prostředí výzkumu jsem zvolila diagnostický ústav pro dívky v Ostravě, kde pracuji jako vychovatelka. Popisuji zde použité výzkumné metody , sběr a záznam dat. Součástí jsou životní příběhy dívek, které jsem kódovala pomocí zakotvené teorie a závěr výzkumného šetření.

Abstract:

The topic of the thesis is incidence of self-harm among girls placed in a diagnostic institute for youth. In the theoretical part, I analyzed the available literature and summarize information about self-harm. Given the conceptual inconsistencies and differences in the perception of the problems of deliberate self-harm, I stated several definitions of Czech and foreign authors. Some authors perceived as part of self-harm, suicidal issues, so I defined these two terms. I describe the specifics of deliberate self-harm in educational institutions and also define the nature of self-harm as a coping strategy. I define diagnostic institute for youth and its clientele. he research is aimed on analyzing of stay at the facility and evaluate its effectiveness in girls with the issue of self-harm. Such as environmental research, I chose the diagnostic institute for girls in Ostrava, where I work as a governess. I describe here used research methods, data collection and data recording. Part of the life stories of girls I encode using grounded theory and the conclusion of the research.
