The impact of the merger on the company's financial performance

Abstract:

Předmětem diplomové práce „Vliv fúze na finanční výkonnost společnosti“ je na základě vhodné statisticko-ekonometrické metody zjistit, zda existuje vliv fúze na finanční výkonnost podniku. Fúzující společnosti jsou v práci porovnávány se vzorkem společností, u kterých k fúzi nedošlo, což umožnilo do jisté míry zanedbat ekonomické podmínky. Pozorovaným časovým horizontem ve výzkumu je období pěti let po fúzi. V teoretické části diplomové práce je čtenář uveden do problematiky fúzí, čímž se rozumí jak deskripce jednotlivých druhů fúzí a motivy pro její uskutečnění, tak právní úprava a vývoj na trhu fúzí v České republice. Teorie se věnuje rovněž konkrétním finančním ukazatelům, které budou později využity v praktické části, která objasní použité metody a pomůže objasnit výsledek proběhlých fúzí.

Abstract:

The subject of the thesis "The impact of the merger on the company's financial performance" is to determine whether there is an influence of the merger on the financial performance of the company using the appropriate statistical and econometric method. Merged companies are compared with a sample of companies that have not merged, which allowed to pretty neglect the economic conditions. The observed time horizon in research is the five-year period after the merger. In the theoretical part of the diploma thesis, the reader is introduced into the issue of mergers, which means both the description of individual types of consolidation and the motives for its realization as well as the legal regulation and development of the merger market in the Czech Republic. The theory also focuses on specific financial indicators, which will later be used in the practical part, which will explain the methods used and help to clarify the outcome of the merger.
