Influence of historical development on demography of Žlábek municipality

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je zachytit historii vesnice Žlábek od prvních zmínek až po současnost. Provedla jsem rozbor z dostupných demografických údajů za vesnici a konfrontovala s historickými událostmi. Tato práce má za cíl popsat migraci obyvatel a prokázat, zda vlivné historické události měly nějaký dopad i na takto malou vesnici v okrese Semily. Kromě demografických dat v práci nalezneme život obyvatel na vesnici od počátku osidlování. Nejprve píši o vzniku žlábeckého dvora, který byl přeměněn v osadu, později se stal součástí více obcí a nakonec samostatně fungující obcí Žlábek. Tak jako ostatní obce i ve Žlábku zanechaly stopy jak obě světové války, tak Prusko-rakouská válka, kterou měli občané Žlábku možnost sledovat na vlastní oči. Žlábek si prošel mnoha událostmi, aby dostal podobu, jakou má nyní. Velký důraz v práci je kladen na místní školu, která procházela dlouhým vývojem přes různě složité fungování až po úplné uzavření.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis is description of the history of the village Žlábek from the first mention to the present. I analyzed the available demographic data for the village and confronted with historical events. The purpose of this thesis is to describe the migration of inhabitants and to show whether influential historical events had any impact on such a small village in Semily district. Apart from the demographic data in this work we can also find the story of people who inhabited the village since the beginning of settlement. First I write about the establishment of the Žlábek´s court which was transformed into ahamlet later it became part of several municipalities and finally it formed an independent municipality Žlabek. As well as other municipalities both world wars left traces in Žlabek the also Austro-Prussian war which the citizens of Žlabek could witness with their own eyes. Žlábek went through many events to get the current form. Great emphasis in this thesis is put on the local school which has a long evolution through variously complicated functioning to final closing.
