The Interaction of Gender Roles in Contemporary Czech Society

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá gender problematikou, rolemi mužů a žen a jejich vzájemnými interak-cemi v současné české společnosti. Popisuje základní pojmy vztahující se k dané problematice, jako jsou gender, genderové role, stereotypy, řád a identita. Je zde uvedeno několik nejvý-znamnějších vývojových teorií. Rozvádí postavení mužů a žen a oblasti vzájemné interakce. Zabývá se základními problémy žen a mužů v současné společnosti. Věnuje se také demogra-fickému popisu české společnosti. Kvantitativní výzkum, provedený formou dotazníkového šetření, zjišťuje názory a postoje žen a mužů ve vztahu jak k jejich vlastním rolím, tak i k rolím opačného pohlaví. Jsou zde analyzovány a popsána vyjádření, očekávání a vzájemné názorové rozepře. Získaná data jsou zpracována do přehledných popisných grafů a tabulek. V závěru práce hodnotí aktuální stav oblastí konfliktu a shody v rolích mužů a žen v české společnosti.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with gender issues, the roles of men and women and their mutual intera-ctions in contemporary czech society. Describes the basic concepts related to the given topic, such as gender, gender roles, stereotypes, order and identity. There are also some of the most important developmental theories. Elaborates status of men and women and areas of mutual interaction. Deals with the basic problems of women and men in contemporary society. It is also focused on demographic description of Czech society. Quantitative re-search conducted through a questionnaire survey, which investigates opinions and attitudes of women and men in relation to their own and opposite sex´s roles. There are analyzed and describes statements, expectations and mutual opinions disputes. The obtained data were processed into transparent descriptive graphs and tables. Thefinal part evaluates the current status of the areas of conflict and consensus in the roles of men and women in czech society.
