Abstract:

Hlavním tématem této historické studie je postavení osob s postižením v době druhé světové války, v období okupace Československa zvaném Protektorát Čechy a Morava. Práce zahrnuje také na celkový přehled problematiky postoje společnosti k osobám se zdravotním postižením v průběhu staletí, od starověkých civilizací po období osvícenství. Dále studie obsahuje přehled historie péče o postižené osoby a rozvoj ústavní péče o mentálně postižené v Čechách a na Moravě. Stěžejní část práce je věnována dějinným událostem, jež předcházely zahájení tajného programu nacistického Německa, zvaném Akce T4, který spočíval v likvidaci všech osob se zdravotním postižením německé národnosti, a to na území Německa a územích Německem spravovaných a samotnému období usmrcování německých českých postižených pacientů. Závěrečná část studie uvádí přehled dokumentů OSN, týkajících se lidských práv a práv osob se zdravotním postižením.

Abstract:

The main topic of this historical study is the status of people with disabilities during the Second World war, in the period of occupation of Czechoslovakia by Nazi Germany called the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. The thesis also includes overal overview of the issue of society’s attitude towards persons with disabilities over the centuries, from the ancient civilizations to the period of Enlightenment. Furthermore, the study provides also an overview of the history of care for disabled people and the development of institutional care for mentally disabled people in Bohemian and Moravian Lands. The core part of this work is devoted to the historical events that preceded the start of the secret programme of Nazi Germany, called Action T4, based on the liquidation of all disabled inhabitans of German nationality in the territory of Germany and the territories administered by Germany and the period itself of killing German and Czech disabled patients. The final part of the study provides an overview of UN documents related to human rights and rights of persons with disabilities.
