Professionalization and standardization of the lecturers profession in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje tématu profesionalizace a standardizace povolání lektora v České republice. Momentálně nemusí být vstup do andragogického povolání nutně vázán na předchozí studium nebo odbornou přípravu výlučně andragogického charakteru. Hlavním cílem je tedy zjištění a prozkoumání postojů a názorů současných českých lektorů na zavedení kvalifikačního standardu. K tomuto průzkumu bylo vybráno šest zkušených lektorů, jejichž odpovědi získané metodou strukturovaného rozhovoru s otevřenými otázkami byly následně analyzovány pomocí otevřeného, axiálního a selektivního kódování. Během rozhovorů bylo zjišťováno, zda je lektory tento proces přijímán pozitivně a zda ho vnímají jako nástroj ke zvýšení prestiže nebo ho považují jako překážku a omezující element ve výkonu jejich činnosti.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the topic of professionalization and standardization of the lecturers profession in the Czech Republic. Nowadays, entering into the andragogical profession is not necessarily bound to previous studies or to professional training which is solely based with andragogical character. Therefore, the main aim is to identify and explore the attitudes and opinions of contemporary Czech lecturers on implementation of the qualification standard. For this survey, six experienced lecturers were selected and their answers were obtained by method of structured interviews with open questions which were later analyzed by using open, axial and selective coding. It has been investigated during the interviews, whether the lecturers accept the process positively, and perceive this process as a tool to enhance the prestige, or whether the lectures consider it as a barrier and limiting element in the performance of their activities.
