Constructions with compass

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se věnuje geometrii kružítka, tedy konstrukcemi jenom kružítkem. Práce se v první části zaměřuje na důkaz tzv. Mohr-Mascheroniho tvrzení, tedy že všechny konstrukce řešitelné pravítkem a kružítkem se dají vyřešit pouze kružítkem. V~následující části této práce jsou vyřešeny některé důležité a zajímavé konstrukce jen kružítkem. Závěr této práce popisuje definici a vlastnosti kruhové inverze, které jsou pak využity při řešení konstrukcí v geometrii kružítka. Poté se práce zabývá využitím kruhové inverze jako univerzální metody řešení konstrukcí pouze kružítkem.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the geometry of the compass therefore with constructions made only by compass. The first part of the thesis is focused on the proof of the so-called Mohr-Mascheroni theorem which says that all constructions that are solvable by the ruler and the compass can be solved only by the compass. In the next part of the work there are some important and interesting constructions solved by the compass. The conclusion of the thesis describes the definition and properties of circle inversion that are then used for solving the construction in the geometry of the compass. Afterwards, the thesis discusses the use of circle inversion as a universal method of solving the constructions by the compass.
