Geographically Weighted Regressions (GWR) in forestry modelling
Geograficky vážená regrese v lesnickém modelování
Abstract:
Obsahem dizertační práce je podrobná studie o geograficky vážené regresi (GWR)a jejím využití v lesnickém modelování. Analyzovány byly monokultury borovicehalepské (Pinus halepensis Mill.) v provincii Murcia ve Španělsku.Dizertační práce je rozdělena do pěti částí: (1) Výběr lokální a zobecněné výškovéfunkce (2) Fitování výškové funkce pomocí smíšeného regresního modelu (LMM) aGWR, přičemž v případě …moreAbstract:
In this dissertation thesis a comprehensive study of the Geographically WeightedRegression and its utilization in forestry modelling was made. The analysed area waslocated in the Spanish region of Murcia, and monospecific stands of Pinus halepensisMill were studied. The thesis can be divided in five parts: (1) Selection of a local and a generalizedheight-diameter equation. (2) Fitting of the height …more

The advantage of GWR over other methodologies, is that is able to determine thespatial location of every model parameter without additional measurements. ThereforeGWR is able to model large areas with the consequent saving of time and money.
