Use of wearables in life insurance

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na využití moderní technologie wearables v oblasti životního pojištění. Cílem práce je popsat využití této technologie v životním pojištění a detailněji popsat její výhody a omezení z hlediska klientů i pojišťoven. V práci budou nejprve vysvětleny teoretické základy pojmu wearables a poté budou představeny i různé druhy těchto zařízení. Práce se také zaměří na současné využití těchto nositelných zařízení na pojistném trhu, jak u nás v České republice, tak i z celosvětové perspektivy. Bude prozkoumáno, jaké jsou aktuální trendy využívání této moderní technologie v oblasti pojištění a jak se tato technologie promítá do pojistných produktů a služeb. Součástí této práce bude i rozhovor s produktovým manažerem o možnostech nového pojistného produktu, který by byl založen na využití technologie wearables a mohl by být úspěšně implementován na českém pojistném trhu. V této práci také prezentuji svůj individuální pohled na potenciální úpravu produktu s využitím wearables v rámci životního pojištění ČSOB pojišťovny a.s.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis focuses on the use of wearables technology in life insurance. The purpose is to describe the use of this technology in life insurance and to explore its advantages and disadvantages from the point of view of clients and insurance companies. The thesis will first explain the theoretical basis of the wearables and then introduce different kinds of these devices. The work will also focus on the current use of these wearable devices on the insurance market, from the Czech a global perspective. It will be described what are the current trends in the use of this modern technology in insurance market and how this technology is reflected in insurance products and services. Part of this work will also be an interview with the product manager about the possibilities of a new insurance product, which would be based on the use of wearables technology and could be potentially implemented on the Czech insurance market. Part of this work will also be my personal perspective on possible adjustments of a product including wearables in life insurance for ČSOB insurance Company.
