External communication in health forums in a German-Czech comparison using the example of acne

Abstract:

This thesis deals with online-communication between doctors and patients and patients with each other against the background of Czech and German online discussion forums. Excerpts from the forums focusing on the skin disease ,,acne vulgaris" (German ,,Akne", Czech ,,akné") will be used for linguistic analysis, which will prove some modifications for example in the field of terminology, especially when describing the mentioned skin disease and their symptoms in contrasting use between patients and doctors. Furthermore, the language of the individual participating patients and doctors will be examined from a stylistic, syntactic and grammatical point of view, namely in a Czech-German contrastive comparison

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá online-komunikací mezi lékaři a pacienty a pacienty navzájem na pozadí českých a německých diskusních online fór. Výňatky z fór se zaměřením na kožní onemocnění ,,acne vulgaris" (německy ,,Akne", česky ,,akné") budou použity k jazykové analýze, které doloží určité modifikace na příklad v oblasti terminologie, zejména při popisu zmíněné kožní nemoci a jejich symptomů, přičemž také porovnává, jak se tato terminologie používá mezi pacienty a lékaři. Dále bude zkoumán jazyk těchto fór ze stylistického, syntaktického a gramatického hlediska, a sice v česko-německém kontrastivním srovnání.
