Thematic analysis of the pedagogical journal ?Informatorium 3-8? and its use by kindergarten teachers

Abstract:

Časopis Informatorium 3-8 je jeden z mála pedagogických časopisů pro učitelky mateřských škol, který u nás vychází. Posláním každého odborně zaměřeného časopisu by měla být podpora profesních kompetencí v daném oboru. V této diplomové práci zjišťujeme, zda takové poslání časopis Informatorium 3-8 plní. Metodou kvantitativní obsahové analýzy ověřujeme, jestli má časopis potenciál pro rozvoj všech profesních kompetencí předškolních pedagogů. Dále zjišťujeme, která témata časopis učitelkám nejčastěji předkládá a kterým autorům je poskytován největší prostor. Dotazníkovým šetřením ověřujeme, zda nabídka časopisu odpovídá poptávce. Sledujeme zájem učitelek o jednotlivé rubriky a témata. Zajímá nás, zda využívají získané informace v praxi a které další pedagogické časopisy čtou. Závěry šetření mohou inspirovat redakci časopisu k optimalizaci obsahu vzhledem k zjištěným potřebám učitelek. Tím by mohlo dojít k vyšší spokojenosti čtenářek a potažmo také ke zkvalitnění jejich práce s nejmladší generací, kterou vychovávají a vzdělávají.

Abstract:

The journal "Informatorium 3-8" is one of the few pedagogical journals for kindergarten teachers published in our country. The mission of each professionally oriented journal should be to support professional competencies in the given field. In this diploma thesis we find out whether such a mission is fulfilled by the journal "Informatorium 3-8". Using the method of quantitative content analysis, we try verifying whether the journal has the potential for the development of all professional competencies of preschool teachers. We also find out which topics in the journal are most often presented to teachers and which authors are given the greatest space. Using a questionnaire survey, we try verifying whether the supply of the journal corresponds to the demand. We monitor the interest of teachers in individual sections and topics. We are interested in whether they use the information obtained in practice and to which other pedagogical journals they are subscribed. The findings of the survey may inspire the editors of the journal to optimize the content with respect to the identified needs of teachers. This could lead to higher satisfaction of readers and thus also to improve the quality of their work with the preschool children, who they educate and take care of.
