Green management practices in accommodation facilities and their benefits - a case study of the Republic of Ireland

Abstract:

Cílem práce „Praktiky green managementu v ubytovacích zařízeních a jejich přínosy – případová studie Irské republiky“ je identifikovat přijatá environmentální opatření v konkrétním ubytovacím zařízení na území Irské republiky a vyhodnotit vnímání jejich relativního významu a přínosů. Teoretická část vychází ze zahraniční odborné literatury týkající se green managementu, green marketingu a problematiky green hotelů. Aplikační část se zaměřuje na vlastní výzkum, v jehož rámci je nejprve proveden desk research stavu udržitelných praktik v irských hotelích, dále jsou v kapitole představeny poznatky z hloubkového rozhovoru s generální manažerkou vybraného hotelu, a nakonec následuje dotazníkové šetření. V závěru práce dochází k vyhodnocení získaných výsledků a jejich diskuze.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis "Green management practices in accommodation facilities and their benefits - a case study of the Republic of Ireland" is to identify the adopted environmental measures in a specific accommodation facility in the Republic of Ireland and to evaluate the perception of their relative importance and benefits. The theoretical part is based on foreign literature regarding green management, green marketing, and the issue of green hotels. The application part focuses on own research, which firstly conducts desk research on the state of sustainable practices in Irish hotels, then the chapter presents findings from an in-depth interview with the general manager of the selected hotel, followed finally by a questionnaire survey. The thesis concludes with an evaluation of the findings and a discussion of the findings.
