The effectiveness of compensation aids for people with physical disabilities

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce s názvem Účelnost kompenzačních pomůcek pro osoby s tělesným postižením se skládá ze čtyř hlavních kapitol. První tři kapitoly obsahují teorii, čtvrtá se věnuje výzkumu na dané téma. Teoretická část diplomové práce specifikuje tělesná postižení. Je zaměřena na kompenzační pomůcky pro lidi s tělesným postižením, a také na téma sport pro osoby s tělesným postižením. Poslední kapitola se zaměřuje na výzkum. Jsou zde úlyvky rozhovorů s vozíčkáři, kteří jsou zároveň aktivními sportovci. Rozhovory jsou zde analyzovány a zpracovány. Taktéž analyzována jsou i data získaná z rozhovorů se zástupci firmy, vyrábějící kompenzační pomůcky. Výzkum ukazuje, že pro tělesně postižené aktivní sportovce je při výběru mechanického vozíku nejdůležitější jeho váha a vzhled. Společnost, která vyrábí kompenzační pomůcky, úzce spolupracuje se svými klienty. Na základě jejich požadavků bylo vyrobeno a uvedeno na trh několik specifických kompenzačních pomůcek.

Abstract:

The dissertation named The Effectiveness of Compensation Aids for People with Physical Disabilities consists of four main chapters. The first free chapters contain the theory, the fourth one deals with the field research on a given subject. The theoretical part of this dissertation specifies physical disabilities. It is focused to compensation aids for people with physical disabilities and to a subject of sports for physically disabled people, too. The last chapter concentrates on the research. There are extracts of interviews with wheelchair users who are active sportsmen as well. The interviews are analysed and processed there. The data got from interviews with representatives of the company which produces compensation aids are analysed there too. The research shows that for the physically disabled active sportsmen the most important thing is the weight and the design of the wheelchair when they choose it. The company which produces compensation aids cooperates very closely with its clients. According to their requirements several specific compensation aids were produced and launched.
