Tato práce se soustředí na popis vývoje řeči. Zahrnuje vývoj historický, ale věnuje se především vývoje z hlediska jedince. Nejrozsáhlejší částí práce je podrobný popis vad, které se mohou vyskytnout v rozvíjející se řeči dětí.
