Application of the Affective Intelligence Theory on the Elections to Academic Senate of Faculty of Social Studies

Abstract:

Tato výzkumná práce se zabývá vlivem dvou typů pozitivních a negativních emocionálních stavů na dva druhy strategií volebního rozhodování: symbolické volby a racionální volby. V teoretické části je podán stručný přehled o emocích a strategiích politického rozhodování. Dále jsou uvedeny jiné projekty, které se oblastí vlivu emocí na politické rozhodování zabývají. Autorka především zdůrazňuje teorii Afektivní inteligence, z níž vychází. Praktická část práce je založena na experimentálním výzkumu, který se skládá z několika měrných metod (dotazníky, pozorování, měření času). Celá studie je koncipována na mikroúroveň fiktivních voleb do Akademického senátu Fakulty sociálních studií. Konečná statistická analýza neprokázala platnost stanovených hypotéz. Na konci práce jsou uvedeny limity této studie a navrhnuty nové náměty pro budoucí výzkumy.

Abstract:

This research is concerned with the influence of two types of positive and negative emotional states on the two types of vote decision-making strategies: symbolic choice and rational choice. The theoretical part gives a brief overview of emotions and political decision-making strategies. Listed below are other projects about the effects of emotions involved in political judgment. The author especially emphasizes the theory of Affective Intelligence, on which the theoretical section is based. The practical part of this study is based on experimental research, which consists of several specific techniques of measurement (questionnaires, observation, measurement of time). The study as a whole is designed for the microlevel of the election to the Academic Senate of the Faculty of Social Studies. The final statistical analysis does not prove the validity of the hypotheses. At the end of the study are discussed the limits and suggested novel topics for other researches.
