Reasons of emploee's stay in the company in time of ecomonic upturn

Abstract:

Silný ekonomický růst, minimální míra nezaměstnanosti, nedostatek zaměstnanců a strmý růst mezd téměř ve všech sektorech hospodářství jsou v současnosti v české společnosti často diskutovaná témata. Současná situace často vede k fluktuaci zaměstnanců, kteří neváhají opustit stávající zaměstnání a přijmout lepší pracovní nabídku, která jim nabízí lepší finanční ohodnocení, zvýšení sociálního statusu či příjemnější pracovní prostředí. Přesto na českém trhu existují společnosti, které odchod zaměstnanců příliš netrápí. Tématem této diplomové práce je studie realizovaná ve firmě XY. Konkrétně práce zkoumá důvody, které vedou zaměstnance této společnosti k setrvání na stávající pozici. Empirická část je postavena na analýze kvalitativních polostrukturovaných rozhovorů se zaměstnanci firmy XY, kteří ve firmě zastávají různě vysoké pozice. Cílem práce je zodpovězení hlavní výzkumné otázky – Jaké důvody mají zaměstnanci firmy XY k setrvání na jejich současné pracovní pozici v době hospodářské konjunktury? Přínosem práce je vedle empirické studie i naplnění určitého teoretického nedostatku v obecných otázkách setrvání zaměstnanců ve stávajícím zaměstnání, kterému se v akademické sféře nedostává tak velké pozornosti.

Abstract:

Economic growth, minimal level of unemployment, shortage of employees and steep growth of wages in all sectors of economy – these are widely discussed topic in the Czech society. Contemporary situation is causing an unseen fluctuation of employees, who are willing to leave their current job and accept a job proposal which offers them higher wage, increase of social status or more suitable work environment. However, on the Czech market, there are still some companies which do not have a problem with retention of employees. The topic of this master’s thesis is a study of company XY. Specifically, the topic is a study of reasons why employees of this company are willing to retain their current jobs in current economic situation. This study is using qualitative semi-structured interview with several employees of company XY, who are holding various positions in a hierarchy of the company. The goal of this thesis is to answer a main research question – What are the reasons of employees of company XY to retain in their current work position during the period of economic conjunction? The contribution of this thesis is not only to provide empiric study of one company, but also to fill a research gap in the form of question why employees are willing to retain their actual – a question which is not widely discussed in academic sphere.
