Pojem lobbing, resp. jeho vnímání, je doposud společností velmi nejednotné. Někteří si pojem vykládají jako činnost legitimní, legální, ba přímo žádoucí, neboť jej pokládají za důležitý aspekt průběh legislativního procesu, pro jiné je tento termín synonymem pro korupci či jiné nekalé praktiky, považují jej za jev pro společnost negativní. The term lobbying, respectively his perception of companies is still very inconsistent. Some interpret the term as a legitimate activity, lawful, even desirable, since it regarded as an important aspect of the legislative process, for others the term is synonymous with corruption and other malpractices, regard him as a negative phenomenon for society.
