Security of internet banking in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je věnována zabezpečení internetového bankovnictví v České republice a to jak z pohledu banky, tak i z pohledu klientů bank. Jsou zde popsány bezpečnostní prvky používané bankami k bezpečnému užívání internetového bankovnictví a metody autentizace pravosti klientů při jejich přihlašování do internetového bankovnictví. Součástí práce jsou průzkumy provedené mezi vybranými českými bankami a klienty bank. Průzkum mezi bankami popisuje přihlašovací bezpečnostní prvky, které jednotlivé banky používají a metody autentizace pravosti klienta, které klientům nabízejí. V průzkumu mezi klienty banky jsou kladeny otázky ohledně možných hrozeb při přihlašování do internetového bankovnictví a obeznámení o bezpečnostních prvcích a postupech, které by měly vést k správnému a bezpečnému užívání internetového bankovnictví. Vedle hlavního téma je zde uvedeno zařazení internetového bankovnictví do forem elektronického bankovnictví a s větším důrazem popsány platební karty a jejich bezpečné užívání. Přínosem této práce je poukázání na bezpečnostní prvky používané vybranými českými bankami v internetovém bankovnictví s výsledky informovanosti klientů o bezpečnosti internetového bankovnictví.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis is devoted to the security of internet banking in the Czech Republic, both in terms of banks, and in terms of bank clients. There are described security features used by banks for the safe use of internet banking and authentication methods of the authenticity of their clients when logging into internet banking. This thesis obtains surveys among selected Czech banks and bank clients. A survey of banks describes the login security features that banks use, different authentication methods of the authenticity of clients, which banks offer to clients. In a survey of bank clients are asked questions about potential threats to log into internet banking and familiar security features and procedures which should lead to the correct and safe use of internet banking. Apart from the main theme there is inclusion of internet banking as s forms of electronic banking with more emphasis description of credit cards and their safe use. The contribution of this work is pointing out the security features of internet banking used in selected Czech banks with the results of clients awareness about the security of internet banking.
