"Let Love in" - Love Lyrics of Nick Cave - The Shift from Sexuality to Spirituality
Abstract:
Bakalářská práce se zabývá milostnými písňovými texty australského hudebníka Nicka Cavea. V dřívějších letech se v jeho textech objevovala tématika sexuality, vyjádření fyzické lásky a násilí. Ve svých pozdější písních se Cave obrací k tématům čisté lásky, krásy a duchovna. Cíl této práce je popsat změnu v jeho tvorbě a najít pro ni důvody.
Abstract:
The thesis discusses the love lyrics of the Australian musician Nick Cave. Initially, his lyrics were dealing with sexuality, physical expression of love, and violence. The later songs show a turn to pure love, beauty, and spirituality. The aim of the thesis is to trace the shift in his writing and to find reasons for that change.
