Social worker and aggression of children in low-threshold facilities

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce pojednává o problematice agresivního jednání klientů v nízkoprahových zařízeních pro děti a mládež, a hlavně následném vlivu tohoto chování na sociální pracovníky vykonávající svou profesi v těchto zařízeních. Teoretická část práce je koncipována do dvou kapitol, kdy první z nich je věnována pojmům agrese a agresivita a jejich objasnění. Také jsou zde uvedeny příčiny tohoto chování, specifika dětské agrese a na závěr jsou uvedeny strategie, které je vhodné použít při prevenci či terapii tohoto jevu. Druhá kapitola vysvětluje pojem nízkoprahová zařízení pro děti a mládež, věnuje se nabízeným službám, cílové skupině a také profesi sociálního pracovníka. Cílem výzkumné části je zjistit, v jaké formě se agrese u klientů vyskytuje a jak jsou sociální pracovníci připraveni na tyto situace doprovázené agresivním jednáním. Také má za cíl prozkoumat, jaký vliv má agresivní jednání klientů na profesní i osobní život sociálních pracovníků a zda je jim v těchto zátěžových situacích poskytovaná dostatečná podpora ze strany zaměstnavatele.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the issue of aggressive behavior of clients in low-threshold facilities for children and youth, and especially the subsequent impact of this behavior on social workers practicing their profession in these facilities. The theoretical part of the work is divided into two chapters. The first one is devoted to the concept of aggression and their clarification. There are also the causes of this behavior, the specifics of child aggression and the strategies that should be used in the prevention or treatment of this phenomenon. The second chapter explains the concept of low-threshold facilities for children and youth, offered services, the target group and the profession of social worker. The aim of the research part is to find out in what form aggression occurs in clients and how social workers are prepared for these situations accompanied by aggressive behavior. It also aims to examine the impact of clients' aggressive behavior on the professional and personal lives of social workers and whether they are provided with sufficient support from employers in these stressful situations
