Quality of education for women on lactation

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá kvalitou edukace žen o laktaci. Cílem práce bylo zjistit, zda jsou ženy na oddělení šestinedělí dostatečně edukovány zdravotnickým personálem o kojení. Další dílčí úkoly práce byly dozvědět se, kde ženy nejčastěji získávají informace o kojení a zda mají věk a parita vliv na míru informovanosti o laktaci. Pro průzkumné šetření byl zvolen kvantitativní typ výzkumu. K získání dat byl použit nestandardizovaný dotazník vlastní konstrukce. Z průzkumného šetření vyplývá, že jsou ženy dostatečně edukovány, avšak určité mezery shledáváme v problematice používání dudlíku a správného přiložení dítěte k prsu. V rámci splnění dílčích úkolů jsme se dozvěděli, že by se měl klást větší důraz na edukaci prvorodiček. Dále by se měly více propagovat předporodní kurzy, jelikož byla v našem dotazníkovém šetření na těchto kurzech velmi malá účast. V rámci naší bakalářské práce jsme také vytvořili informační letáček, který bude matkám sloužit jako příručka v jejich krásném období mateřství.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the quality of women's education about lactation. The aim of the thesis were to find out whether women in the puerperium department are sufficiently educated by medical staff about breastfeeding. Other sub-tasks of the work were to learn where women most often get information about breastfeeding and whether age and parity have an impact in the level of awareness of lactation. A quantitative type of research was chosen for the exploratory survey. A non-standardized questionnaire of its own design was used to obtain the data. The survey shows that women are sufficiently educated, but we found some gaps in the issue of using a pacifier and correctly attaching the baby to the breast. As part of the fulfilment of partial tasks, we learned that more emphasis should be put on the education of first-time mothers. Furthermore, antenatal courses should be promoted more, as there was very little participation in our questionnaire survey. As part of our bachelor thesis, we have also created an informational leaflet that will serve as a guide for mothers in their beautiful period of motherhood.
