ITIL Implementation in Small and Medium Sized Companies

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá implementací ITIL do malých a středních firem. Hlavním cílem práce je dokázat, že dané metodiky nejsou implementovatelné pouze do velkých firem, ale i do firem malých a středních. Práce postupně probere základy ITIL metodik, podstatu ITSM a rozebere, jak spolu tyto dva pojmy souvisí. Dále se zaměří na obecný popis implementace ITIL, který je následně specifikován pro malé a střední firmy. Součástí práce je také popsání zásadních rozdílů implementace do malých a středních firem od implementace do velkých organizací. V poslední části se práce zaměří na demonstraci popsaných nástrojů pro smyšlenou firmu malého měřítka. Navrhne, které nástroje by si měla implementovat, popíše očekávané cíle a jejich pokrytí zvolenými nástroji. Na závěr popíše postup pro danou firmu a celý proces implementace finančně vyhodnotí.

Abstract:

This thesis is about implementation of ITIL to small and medium sized companies. The main goal of the thesis is to prove that the methods are not implementable only to big organizations, but also to small and medium sized companies. The thesis will gradually go through the basics of ITIL methods, basis of ITSM and describes how are these two terms related to each other. In next step the thesis will focus on the basic description of ITIL implementation as it can be used in any big organization, which is later specified for the needs of small and medium sized companies. Part of the thesis is also description of the main differences between ITIL implementation to small and medium sized companies compared to implementation for big organizations. The last part of the thesis is focused on demonstration of described tools for made up organization of small size. The thesis will suggest which tools should be implemented to the company, describes the expected goals and how are they covered by the chosen tools. At the end of the thesis are described the steps of ITIL implementation proccess for the company which is financially evaluated afterwards.
