VISUAL IDENTITY OF EXISTING SUBJECT

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce je zaměřena na tvorbu korporátní identity nymburského pivovaru a obalový design firemních produktů. Nymburský pivovar má bohatou historii datovanou od roku 1895 a zásluhou slavného nymburského rodáka Bohumila Hrabala i jedinečnou pověst. Před vytvořením značky a grafického manuálu bylo nutné nastudovat téma brandingu a zvolit vhodnou metodu tvorby. Vybrala jsem si metodu výběru archetypu v brandingu, která vyžaduje detailní analýzu firemní identity za podpory vedení firmy a průzkum trhu. Snažila jsem se vytvořit takovou značku, která bude odrážet filozofii společnosti a bude používat poutavý a jedinečný design obalů. Největší důraz je kladen na pivní etikety, které jsou nejsilnějším prvkem propagace každého pivovaru. Vizuální styl je založen na černobílé perokresebné ilustraci a silné typografii. Vizuální jazyk se skládá z kombinování písma a ilustrací do kompozic. Vše spojuje významný prvek - červená barva. Cílem mé práce bylo prolomit konvence českých pivních etiket, které jsou podle mého názoru usedlé ve srovnání s těmi světovými a pomoci společnosti prezentovat se na veřejnosti efektivnějším a odvážnějším způsobem.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis is focused on a new corporate design of the Postřižinské Brew with packaging design included. This brewery is located in Nymburk and has a long tradition and rich history connected with great Czech writer Bohumil Hrabal. Before creating the brand and the graphic manual it was necessary to study the theme of branding and choose an appropriate method to deal with it. I have chosen the methodology of Archetypes in Branding which stands on fact that building of corporate identity demands support from the top management, market research and a lot of information around. I tried to create the kind of brand visual identity that will reflect the philosophy of the company and that will use eye-catching and unique packaging design. The biggest emphasis is on beer labels, which are the strongest element in propagation of every brewery. Then I created stationery; classical promotion materials as coasters, tap labels, printing for pints, posters; and other promo materials as a cycling jersey or printed plastic cups. The last thing I consider important to design was navigation elements for the brewery complex. The next part of the work was a graphic manual which includes all applications and also guides that will define how to work with the company's brand. I based my visual style on illustration in a monochrome line drawing style and typography. Visual language consists of combining fonts and bold compositions together with illustrations. All is connected with a significant element red color. The aim of my work was to break the conventions of Czech beer labels, which are in my opinion unchallenging compared to the ones around the world and help company to assert itself in public in a more efficient way.
