This thesis deals with nursing care of the oral cavity in patients in intensive care units (ICU) and anaesthesiology-resuscitation wards (ARW). The aim was to investi-gate the expertise of general nurses/specialist nurses and their compliance with the recommended practices for oral hygiene in conscious or unconscious patients.
