Water mill races - vanishing features of fluvial landscapes

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá vodními náhony v krajině, které byly budovány na tocích v souvislosti s výstavbou vodních mlýnů, pil či hamrů. Cílem je popsat vliv vodních náhonů na vodní toky a krajinu. Vlastní výzkum je rozdělen do tří částí. V první části jsou studované prostorové zákonitosti rozmístění lokalit vodních mlýnů v zájmovém území. Pro zjištění polohy vodních mlýnů bylo využito map III. vojenského mapování. V druhé části byla podrobně zmapována tři vybraná území (povodí Bílého potoka, Brtnice a Říčky), byl zhodnocen současný stav vodních náhonů v krajině a jejich funkce. Ve třetí části byl zkoumán vodní náhon v Dolních Loučkách. Kromě podrobného popisu byla provedena měření měrného elektrického odporu v nivě náhonu na čtyřech profilech v průběhu roku 2016 a 2017. Výsledkem práce je vyhodnocení prostorového rozmístění vodních mlýnů v zájmovém území, popis potenciálních a aktuálních dopadů výstavby vodních náhonů na krajinu v dílčích povodích a vyhodnocení časových změn obsahu vody v nivě náhonu v Dolních Loučkách.

Abstract:

The thesis is dealing with mill races in the countryside which were built on the rivers where watermills, sawmills and ironmills were located. The main aim is to describe the influence of mill races on rivers and landscape. The research is divided into three parts. In the first part, the spatial relations of localities of watermills in the study area are analysed. The localities were found using the maps of 3rd Military Survey. In the second part, the evaluation of current condition and function of the mill races was carried out in three catchments (catchments of Bílý potok, Brtnice and Říčka). In the third part, the mill race in Dolní Loučky was studied. Apart from detailed description, measurements of electrical resistivity in the meadow of the mill race were carried out during the years 2016 and 2017. The results of thesis are evaluation of spatial distribution of watermills in the study area, description of potential and current impacts of watermills in the studied catchments and evaluation of temporal changes of water content in the meadow of mill race in Dolní Loučky.
