Victims of crime and their identification

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou identifikace obětí trestných činů. V práci jsou rozebrány a popsány postupy a metody, které policie využívá při identifikaci obětí, a to jak z hlediska právního, tak psychologického. Práce se věnuje vymezení základních pojmů, jako je trestný čin, oběť a zvlášť zranitelná oběť. Dále se zaměřuje na proces viktimizace a charakteristické znaky obětí trestných činů. Popisuje také dopady trestných činů na oběti v rovině fyzické, psychické, ekonomické a sociální. Hlavní část práce tvoří popis samotného procesu identifikace obětí. Práce zdůrazňuje nutnost citlivého přístupu, navázání důvěry a respektování individuálních potřeb obětí. Pomocí strukturovaných rozhovorů jsou prezentovány výsledky kvalitativního výzkumu provedeného s příslušníky Policie ČR, kteří mají zkušenosti s identifikací obětí.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of identification of victims of crime. The thesis discusses and describes the procedures and methods used by the police in identifying victims, both from a legal and psychological point of view. The thesis is devoted to the definition of basic concepts such as crime, victim and particularly vulnerable victim. It also focuses on the process of victimisation and the characteristics of victims of crime. It also describes the impact of crime on victims in physical, psychological, economic and social terms. The main part of the thesis is a description of the process of victim identification itself. The thesis emphasises the need for a sensitive approach, establishing trust and respecting the individual needs of victims. Using structured interviews, the results of qualitative research conducted with members of the Police of the Czech Republic who have experience in victim identification are presented.
