„Okay, let’s do this one last time“: New Spider-man and his expressive style in Spider-man: Into the Spider-verse

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is analyzing the movie Spider-man: Into the Spider-verse. Critical reflections about the film is mostly concerned by the unique visual style of the movie, where it is praised for its unique comic book style or the technological innovations that made it happened. Talking about the narrative is mostly superficial. That is why the first chapter of this thesis is narrative analysis focusing on the new protagonist and how he reflects the traditional Spider-man myth. In my opinion this is mostly through building of a vast fictional world, which I will explain more in the last chapter. However, I analyzed the movies style as well, where I am explaining how the style certainly is unique, and not only visually, but it functions mostly expressively.

Abstract:

Táto bakalárska práca sa venuje analýze filmu Spider-man: Paralelné svety. Kritická reflexia okolo filmu sa venovala najmä jeho unikátnemu obrazovému štýlu, pri ktorom najviac vyzdvihovala jeho nový vizuál dekoratívne alebo z pohľadu technologických inovácií. Narácii sa venovala veľmi okrajovo. Preto prvým cieľom tejto práce je narativna analýza, s ktorou vysvetľujem ako úplne nový protagonista filmu reflektuje tradičný spidermanovský narativ a ako je ozvláštňovaný práve sústredením sa na budovanie fikčného sveta, ktorému sa viac venujem v poslednej kapitole. Nasledovať bude ale aj štýlistická analýza, s ktorou vysvetľujem ako je štýl unikátny, ale funguje primárne expresívne a nie dekoratívne.
