Personality Adalbert Stifter in background of protectorate culture review Böhmen und Mähren

Abstract:

This diploma thesis has the goal to answer the question of possibility of the existence of a connection between the personality of Adalbert Stifter or the orientations of his theory, what was formulated as the “Sanftes Gesetz”, and the ideas of the German national socialists. The thesis tries to find the conjunct points of this two, at the first sight, fully diverse orientations in the literature or social activity, which was reflected on the pages of the protectorates culture revue “Böhmen und Mähren”. A part of work is also dedicated to the analysing of this journal, which arises under the jurisdiction of the German ministry of propaganda. The goal of the diploma thesis is the analysing of explicit journalists as well, who published the articles about Adalbert Stifter, and their involvement in the theme of A. Stifter. Last but not least topic of the thesis is Adalbert Stifter´s Award (Adalbert Stifter-Preis). The history and present of this prize giving was discovered during working on this diploma thesis.

Abstract:

Tato práce si klade za cíl najít odpověď na otázku možné spojitosti osobnosti Adalberta Stiftera, resp. jeho názorového směru formulovaného pod názvem "Sanftes Gesetz", a ideovými názory německých nacionálních socialistů, které se odrážely na stránkách protektorátní kulturní revue "Böhmen und Mähren". Práce se pokouší najít společné znaky těchto dvou, na první pohled zcela odlišných směrů literární, resp. společenské působnosti. Cílem práce je rovněž analyzovat konkrétní osoby, které publikovaly články o A. Stifterovi právě ve výše uvedeném periodiku. Zřetel je brát i na jejich angažovanost na "stifterovském" tématu. V neposlední řadě je věnován prostor i existenci tzv. Ceny Adalberta Stiftera, která hrála významnou roli právě v protektorátní kulturní revue "Böhmen und Mähren". Její historie a současnost se stala také předmětem této diplomové práce.
