Language skills of primary and secondary school teachers in České Budějovice

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce bylo porovnat jazykovou vybavenost učitelů na základ-ních a středních školách v Českých Budějovicích. Teoretická část sumarizuje historii výuky cizích jazyků a jednotlivé metody, které lze ve výuce cizích jazyků použít. Dále je v teoretické části zahrnuto pregraduální a postgraduální vzdělá-vání učitelů cizích jazyků a rovněž management ve školách, tj. school a classro-om management. V praktické části jsou obsaženy výsledky kvantitativního vý-zkumu, který byl proveden na vybraných základních a středních školách v Českých Budějovicích. Na základě analýzy dat jsou v této části prezentovány výsledky dotazníkového šetření a jsou navrhována možná řešení. Závěr shrnuje dosažené výsledky a navrhuje témata k dalšímu zkoumání.

Abstract:

The aim of the bachelor thesis was to compare the language skills of teachers in primary and secondary schools in České Budějovice. The theoretical part summarizes the history of foreign language teaching and the different methods that can be used in foreign language teaching. Furthermore, the theoretical part covers undergraduate and postgraduate education of foreign language teachers as well as management in schools, i.e. school and classroom management. The practical part contains the results of a quantitative research conducted in selected primary and secondary schools in České Budějovice. Based on the data analysis, the results of the questionnaire survey are presented in this part and possible solutions are proposed. The conclusion summarizes the results and suggests topics for further research.
