Analysis of the public transport system in the Republic of Korea and the possibility of implementing selected transport system elements in the conditions of the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce pomocí metody analýzy dokumentů a metody pozorování srovnává historický vývoj a současný stav dopravy v Jižní Koreji a v České republice. Analýza dále hodnotí fungování jednotlivých koordinátorů dopravy a kvalitu integrovaných dopravních systémů hlavního města Prahy (Středočeského kraje) a Soulu (provincie Gyeonggi). Autor ve své práci postupně odhaluje problémy obou států a také vize jejich dopravních politik k roku 2030. Závěrem autor zkoumá možnosti implementace některých z dopravních prvků Jižní Koreji do prostředí České Republiky a dochází k závěru, že rozdílné podmínky obou států natolik ovlivňují to, jak jsou systémy koncipovány, že je za současné situace technicky nemožné, popřípadě neekonomické, dané prvky realizovat. Přesto autor navrhuje sledování dalšího rozvoje začínajících projektů pro jejich možnou implementaci v budoucnosti.

Abstract:

Bachelor thesis by usage of the method of documents’ analysis and method of observation compares the historical evolution and the current status of the transportation in South Korea and Czech Republic. Analysis further judges functioning of particular transportation coordinators and the quality of the integrated transport systems of the capitol city Prague (Central Bohemian Region) and Seoul (Gyeonggi province). The author in his work little by little reveals the problems of both countries and also the visions of their transport policies to year 2030. In the end author investigates the options of the implementation of South Korea’s transport elements into Czech Republic’s environment and comes to conclusion, that different conditions of both countries influence the fact, how the systems are drafted. Hence the implementation of certain elements in current situation is not technically possible, eventually not economically efficient. Nevertheless the author suggests further observation of the starting projects’ evolution for their possible implementation in the future.
