The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to describe the most frequent illnesses of the macula focusing on the differences between them. Firstly, there is described anatomy, physiology and the diagnostic methods. In the next chapters the thesis is dealing with hereditary and acquired illnesses of the macular region. Cieľom tejto bakalárskej práce je popísať najčastejšie ochorenia makuly so zameraním sa na odlišnosti medzi nimi. V úvodnej časti práce je popísaná anatómia a fyziológia sietnice a vyšetrovacie metódy, ktoré sa využívajú pri diagnostike.
