Satisfaction of secondary school students with the classroom environment

Abstract:

Tato práce sleduje dva výzkumné cíle, a to, zjistit, zda a popř. v jakých aspektech se liší spokojenost žáků se sociálním klimatem školní třídy u různých typů středních škol, a zda se liší vnímání sociálního klimatu školní třídy u žáků a jejich třídních učitelů. V první části své práce uvádím teoretická východiska pro tento výzkum a zabývám se i systémem středoškolského vzdělávání a vývojem a současným stavem školní psychologie v České republice. V praktické části zkoumám pomocí dotazníku CES (Classroom Environment Scale), který byl přeložen a standardizován na českou populaci v roce 1998, celkem 582 respondentů (553 žáků a 29 učitelů) z 29 tříd osmi kategorií středních škol. Z výsledků mé práce vyplývá, že existují rozdíly ve spokojenosti se sociálním klimatem školní třídy u žáků různých typů středních škol, a dále, že se liší pohled na různé aspekty sociálního klimatu u žáků a vyučujících, nicméně tento rozdíl s typem střední školy nesouvisí.

Abstract:

This thesis follows two aims. First one is to find out, if and in which aspects the satisfaction of secondary school students from different types of secondary schools with their classroom climate differs, and the second aim is, if the students' perception of classroom environment differs from the perception of their class teachers.In the first part of this thesis the theoretical basis for my research is set out and I handle with secondary school system and development and present state od school psychology in the Czech Republic.In the second part I examine with help of CES (Classroom Environment Scale), which was translated and standardized for Czech population in 1998, 582 respondents (553 students and 29 teachers) from 29 classes of eight types of secondary schools. Results indicate that differences in satisfaction with classroom environment between students of different types of secondary school exist and that the perception of different aspects of classroom environment between students and their teachers differs, however this difference isn't related to type of secondary school.
