Interpretation of the incest taboo: current folk model

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá interpretacemi incestního tabu se zaměřením na současný lidový model. Cílem práce je zjištění, jak je v současné době v lidovém diskurzu vysvětlována existence incestního tabu, jaké konkrétní styky jsou považovány za incestní, na jaké kategorie lidí se v současném lidovém modelu incestní tabu vztahuje a jak je to zdůvodňováno. Je rozdělena do dvou částí, teoretickou a empirickou. První část seznamuje s teorií příbuzenství, problematikou incestního tabu, jeho rozšířením mimo nukleární rodinu a královským incestem. Stěžejní bod teoretické části představují interpretace incestního tabu různých autorů. Základem empirické části je kvalitativní výzkum založený na rozhovorech s 14 respondenty.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with interpretations of incest taboo with a focus on current folk model. The main aim of the thesis is to decribe how people explain the existence of incest taboo, which sexual contacts are for my respondents incestuous, to which categories of people incest taboo is related in current folk model and how it is justified. My bachelor thesis is divided into two segments, theoretical and empirical. The first part introduces the theory of kinship, incest taboo, royal incest, extension of the incest taboo and royal incest. The main part of first segment is a lot of interpretations of incest taboo by famous scientists. The basis of empirical part is qualitative research based on interviews with 14 respondents.
