Autobiography and autofiction in graphic novels Amères saisons and 1h25

Abstract:

The subject of this Bachelor´s thesis is the autobiography and the autofiction in graphic novels Amères saisons written by Étienne Schréder and 1h25 by Judith Forest. A review of these two books reveals that there is a big difference between the classic children´s comics and the graphic novels which are aimed at adults. The graphic novels resemble the novels of literature by their dimension and content. We deal with the fact that the comics are able to conceive the literary genres such as autobiography, autofiction or fictitious autobiography, the quality of which can be compared to the quality of the same genres in literature.

Abstract:

Téma této bakalářské práce je autobiografie a autofikce ve dvou kreslených románech, jedná se o Amères saisons, který napsal Étienne Schréder a 1h25 od Judith Forest. Analýza těchto dvou knih zaprvé ukazuje, že je velký rozdíl mezi klasickými komiksy pro děti a právě kreslenými romány, které jsou určeny pro dospělé a svým rozsahem i obsahem se blíží románu literárnímu. Dále řešíme fakt, že svět komiksů dokáže pojmout literární žánry, jako je autobiografie, autofikce nebo fiktivní autobiografie, jejichž kvalita je stejně hodnotná jako kvalita těchto žánrů v literatuře.
