The scope of the birth plan and the midwife competency

Abstract:

Cíl: Cílem bakalářské práce bylo popsat rozsah porodního plánu a kompetence porodní asistentky. Teoretická část práce se podrobně věnuje porodu, jednotlivým bodům porodního plánu a kompetencím porodní asistentky. V praktické části je proveden průzkum, který se zabývá subjektivním prožíváním porodu rodiček se sestaveným porodním plánem. Metodika: Metodou průzkumu byl zvolen kvalitativní přístup. Průzkumný vzorek tvořilo 5 žen a 4 zdravotničtí pracovníci. Technikou sběru dat byl polostrukturovaný rozhovor. Na základě analýzy výroků všech zúčastněných participantů byly stanoveny kategorie a podkategorie. Výsledky: Z výsledků praktické části práce bylo potvrzeno, že porodní plán je jednoznačně přínosem. Byly zjištěny různé důvody, které ženy vedou k jeho sestavení. Dále bylo zjištěno, že jednou z nejčastějších priorit, kterou ženy uvádějí v porodním plánu, je okamžitý a nerušený kontakt s dítětem. Pozitiva porodního plánu uvedli také zdravotníci, účastnící se průzkumu. Závěr: Porodní plán je dnes rodičkami stále více využíván. Pro rodičku je důležité, aby informace k sestavení porodního plánu čerpala z ověřených zdrojů. Každá žena prožívá porod jiným způsobem a má u něj rozdílné přání a představy. Kvalita péče o rodící ženu jde stále kupředu, jak také uvádějí ženy ve svých výpovědích. Stále je ovšem, co zlepšovat. Cílem lékařů a porodních asistentek by měla být péče na takové úrovni, aby porodní plány nebyly potřeba.

Abstract:

Objective: The aim of the bachelor thesis is to describe the extent of the birth plan and the competence of the midwife. The theoretical part of the thesis deals in detail with birth, individual points of birth plan and the competence of the midwife. There is performed a survey of the subjective experience of women with the birth plan in the practical pat of the thesis. Methodology: A qualitative method has been chosen. Five women after childbirth and four healthcare employees participated in the survey. The technique of data collection was a semi-structured interview. The categories and subcategories have been created based on the participants statement analysis. Results: It has been confirmed based on the results of the practical part of the thessis that the birth plan is definitely a benefit. There are various reasons behind the birth plan. One of the most common priority is an immediate and undisturbed contact with the newborn. The positives of the birth plan are also reported by health-care professionals participated in the survey. Conclusion: The use of the birth plan is on the rise. It is important for the pregnant women that the birth plan is based on verified resources. Every woman experiences childbirth in different way and has different wishes and ideas. The quality level of the care about women in childbirth process is continuously improving as is stated in the interviews. Nevertheless it still room for improvement. The aim of doctors and midwives is to maintain a level of care in the way that the birth plans are no longer needed.
