Internal communication with couriers in an international logistic company

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá tématem interní komunikace se zaměstnanci bez pracovního stolu, tedy se zaměstnanci, kteří pracují převážně v terénu a nemají pracovní počítač, přístup k e-mailu atp. Vzhledem k tomu, že jde většinou a zaměstnance, kteří přímo komunikují s klienty, je jejich informovanost stěžejní. Přesto se právě na ně často zapomíná. Ve své diplomové práci se tímto tématem konkrétně zabývám ve společnosti XY, kde se tento problém týká kurýrů – tváře logistického businessu. Jako cíl své práce jsem si stanovila identifikovat bariéry úspěšného dosažení cílů interní komunikace s kurýry. V teoretické části jsem se nejdříve věnovala komunikaci jako takové, komunikačnímu procesu a bariérám a následně jsem přešla přes komunikaci interní až k interní komunikaci přímo se zaměstnanci bez pracovního stolu. Na základě operacionalizace těchto kapitol jsem vytvořila dílčí výzkumné otázky. Pro analytickou část jsem zvolila nejprve analýzu dokumentů a stávajících procesů a následně na základě získaných informací vytvořila dotazník. Ten jsem distribuovala na všechny kurýry. Po analýze získaných dat jsem zodpověděla na hlavní výzkumnou otázku a identifikovala bariéry úspěšného dosažení cílů interní komunikace kurýry.

Abstract:

My master’s thesis is concentrated on the internal communication with non-desk employees. Those employees are the ones that work outside of office for the most of the day therefore they for the most part do not have access to company computer or to e-mail. With them being the front line customer facing employees, it is absolutely crucial to keep them informed. This is often forgotten about or it is considered too much of a hassle. In my thesis I concentrate in this problem in company XY and their couriers. The aim of my thesis is to identify barriers which are in the way of achieving goals of internal communication with couriers. In the theoretical part I start with defining communication itself and move through internal communication all the way to non-desk population of the company. Based on this I articulated particular research questions and the research method. I used document and process analysis for the first step and based on the outcome I prepared a survey for the couriers. After I analyzed the data and identified barriers which are in the way of achieving goals of internal communication with couriers.
