How teachers learn to philosophise with children

Abstract:

Tato magisterská diplomová práce se zabývá dalším vzděláváním učitelů v metodě Filosofie pro děti v rámci projektu ACP4C – Být občanem, který byl realizován neziskovou organizací Člověk v tísni, o.p.s. Cílem práce je popsat, jak se učitelé učí filozofovat s dětmi a jak hodnotí účast a přínos tohoto vzdělávaní v rámci svého profesního rozvoje. Práce je standardně rozdělena na dvě části – teoretickou a empirickou. Teoretická část věnuje pozornost konceptuálnímu vymezení tématu – učitel, další vzdělávání, Filozofie pro děti. V empirické části práce je popsána metodologie a jsou zde interpretovány výsledky výzkumu, který byl proveden skrze polostrukturované hloubkové rozhovory a dotazníkovou anketu. V rámci výzkumného šetření docházím k mnoha zajímavým zjištěním. Jedním z nich je rozvoj didaktických kompetencí v podobě tvorby filozofických otázek, které stimulují aktivitu a myšlení žáků. Mezi další zjištění patří i zintenzivnění kolegiální spolupráce a podpory zapojených učitelů. Všechny tyto skutečnosti, a mnohé další, mají pozitivní dopad na profesní rozvoj zúčastněných učitelů.

Abstract:

This master's thesis deals with in-service education of teachers in the method of Philosophy for children within the project ACP4C – Being a citizen, which was implemented by the non-profit organization People in Need, o.p.s. The aim of the thesis is to describe how teachers learn to philosophise with children, how they evaluate the participation and benefits of this education in their professional development. The work is divided into two parts – theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part pays attention to the conceptual definition of the topic – teacher, in-service education and philosophy for children. The empirical part of the thesis describes the methodology and interprets the results of the research, which was conducted through semi-structured in-depth interviews and a questionnaire survey. Within the research, there are many interesting findings. One of them is the development of didactic competencies in the form of creating philosophical questions that stimulate the activity and thinking of students. Other interesting findings include the intensification of collegial cooperation and support for the teachers involved. All these facts, and many others, have a positive impact on the professional development of the participating teachers.
