Abstract:

The thesis deals with a newspaper style text chosen from the whole scale of the British newspapers ? from tabloids to ?middle-market? newspapers and quality papers. One exemplary topic which is published in all the chosen newspapers will be picked. The main objective is to analyse stylistic characteristics of source texts and compare them with each other. Owed to that we will be able to say whether there are any differences on the stylistic and linguistic level between the quality newspapers, ?middle-market? newspapers and the tabloids varying from headlines, fonts, expressivity, vocabulary, grammar and other aspects of language. At the end of the thesis we will execute a translation analysis of translation of the chosen articles.

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá novinovými články, které jsou vybrané z tradičních britských deníků ? od bulvárních novin, přes neutrální periodika až po seriózní noviny K tomuto účelu bude vybráno jednotné téma, které bude otištěno ve všech vybraných novinách. Hlavním cílem této práce je analýza použitých stylistických prostředků výchozích textů, které se následně porovnají navzájem. Díky tomu budeme schopní říct, zda jsou, a jaké, mezi jednotlivými periodiky stylistické a jazykové rozdíly, tzn. rozdíly na úrovni titulků, typu písma, expresivity, slovní zásoby, gramatiky a jiných jazykových prostředků. V závěru práce bude uveden jejich autorský překlad a rozbor překladu.
