Specifics of Teaching German Language Children with ADHD

Abstract:

The topic of this diploma thesis is Specifics of Teaching German Language Children with ADHD. In the theoretical part of the thesis, the causes of the disease and its main symptoms are described on the basis of the studied literature: hyperactivity, attention deficit disorder and impulsivity. In the other chapters, the most common clichés associated with this disease are mentioned, and Heinrich Hoffmann Der Struwwelpeter's book - the main heroes of this children's book - show some of the symptoms of ADHD. The fourth chapter describes specific methods. Application of these methods is recommended for teaching pupils with ADHD. The last chapter of the theoretical part deals with the analysis of the personality of the teacher, which forms one of the basics of quality education. In the practical part a case study is described and analyzed. This case study was conducted as an observation of a particular pupil with ADHD at elementary school in Ústí nad Labem. Observation was carried out during the four lessons of the German language. The pupil was observed by two independent observers. Two specific teaching methods were used to teach pupils with ADHD. The following two lesson took place without the application of these methods. Two independent observers captured the manifestations of ADHD symptoms using Likert's scale on record protocols. The results of the records were analyzed immediately after the end of the lesson. The conclusion of the thesis describes the results of the observation and the expediancy of using the specific methods.

Tématem diplomové práce jsou specifika při výuce německého jazyka u dětí s ADHD.V teoretické části práce jsou na základě prostudované odborné literatury popsány příčiny vzniku onemocnění a jeho hlavní symptomy: hyperaktivita, porucha pozornosti a impulzivita. V dalších kapitolách jsou zmíněna nečastější klišé spojená s tímto onemocněním a též je krátce analyzována kniha Heinricha Hoffmanna Der Struwwelpeter hlavní hrdinové této dětské knihy vykazují některé ze zmíněných symptomů ADHD. Čtvrtá kapitola je věnována popisu specifických metod. Aplikace těchto metod je doporučována pro využití ve výuce žáků s ADHD. Poslední kapitola teoretické části se zabývá rozborem osobnosti učitele, která tvoří jeden ze základů kvalitní výuky. V praktické části je popsána a analyzována případová studie. Tato případová studie proběhla jako pozorování konkrétního žáka s ADHD na ZŠ v Ústí nad Labem. Pozorování bylo realizováno během čtyř vyučovacích hodin německého jazyka. Žák byl pozorován dvěma nezávislými pozorovateli. Při dvou vyučovacích jednotkách byly použity doporučené specifické metody pro výuku žáků s ADHD. Následující dvě vyučovací hodiny proběhly bez aplikace těchto metod. Dva nezávislí pozorovatelé zachycovali projevy symptomů ADHD pomocí Likertovy škály na záznamové protokoly. Výsledky záznamů byly bezprostředně po skončení hodiny analyzovány. V závěru diplomové práce jsou popsány výsledky pozorování a účelnost užití daných specifických metod.
