The Garden

Abstract:

V této práci zachycuji svůj osobní vztah k Zahradě, čemu mě jako jedince učí a jaký tvoří smysl v mém životě. Popisuji svou cestu vedoucí k pěstování zeleniny a zaznamenávám svou osobní transformaci. Vysvětluji, proč jsem se rozhodla tuto zkušenost předávat dál skrze fotografii a text, a také jaké cíle si kladu při interakci díla s divákem. Dále nastiňuji, jaký mají zahrady význam pro společnost a životní prostředí, základy problematiky týkající se klimatické krize kořenící v hodnotách konzumní společnosti a možnosti řešení skrze hnutí potravinové suverenity a změnu myšlení. V poslední části práce jmenuji několik umělců a uměleckých institucí, které propojují umění s ekologií a udržitelností.

Abstract:

In this thesis I write about my personal relation with the Garden, how it leads me and about the meaning of life that it gives me. I write wbout my personal history that leaded me to cultivation and how I have been transformed. I explain why I decided to pass on this experience through photography and text, and I explain which goals I have for the interaction of the work with the viewer. Furthermore, I outline the significance of gardens for society and the environment, the basics of the issue related to the climate crisis rooted in the values of the consumer society, and possible solutions through the food sovereignty movement and a global change of thinking.
