Brewing owned by C.k. The Theresian Institute of Noblewomen in Prague at Hradčany on the example of the Cerhenice brewery.

Abstract:

Předkládaná bakalářská práce zkoumá pivovarnictví a pivovary provozované nadačním fondem Tereziánského ústavu šlechtičen v Praze na Hradčanech. Zvláštní důraz je kladen na provoz pivovaru v Cerhenicích a jeho porovnání s pivovary, jak v rámci nadace, tak i s pivovary v okolním regionu. Cílem práce je zhodnotit, jaký význam mělo pivovarnictví v rámci nadace Tereziánského ústavu, zmapovat činnost cerhenického závodu a zjistit, jak důležitou roli hrál pivovar v Cerhenicích v rámci nadace a ve sledovaném regionu. Dílčím cílem práce je posoudit, jak se na fungování pivovarů projevily historické události, jako války, vznik československé republiky, hospodářská krize nebo převzetí moci komunistickou stranou.

Abstract:

The presented bachelor's thesis examines the brewing industry and the breweries operated by the Teresian Institute of Noblewomen at Prague Castle foundation. Special emphasis is given on the operation of the brewery in Cerhenice and its comparison with breweries, both within the foundation and with breweries in the surrounding region. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the importance of brewing industry within the Teresian Institute foundation, to map the activities of the Cerhenice plant and to find out, how important a role the brewery in Cerhenice played within the foundation and in the monitored region. The partial goal of the work is to assess, how historical events, such as wars, the establishment of the Czechoslovak Republic, the economic crisis or the takeover of power by the Communist Party, affected the functioning of breweries.
