Childbirth and development into the 21st century

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce pojednává o porodu a jeho vývoji do 21. století. Cíl: Cílem bakalářské práce bylo zjistit, jaké mají ženy možnosti, a jak prožívají své těhotenství, porod i šestinedělí. Metodika: Pro průzkumné šetření byla použita metoda tématické analýzy, která byla zvolena z důvodu menšího souboru participantek. Informace byly sesbírány pomocí polostrukturovaného rozhovoru s pěti ženami, které rodily ve 20. nebo 21. století. Jednotlivé rozhovory byly nahrány a pomocí doslovné transkripce přepsány do Microsoft Word. Poté byla provedena podrobná analýza textu. Byla zvolena metoda interpretativní fenomenologické analýzy. Výsledky: Na základě analýzy dat byly stanoveny kategorie a podkategorie. Byly zvoleny čtyři kategorie: těhotenství, porodnice a péče, porod a období šestinedělí. Byly zjišťovány pocity žen a jejich zkušenosti s prožíváním těhotenství, porodních období i šestinedělí. Ze získaných dat lze vyvodit pokrok, který za těch pár let v porodnictví nastal a také, co se nezměnilo. Závěr: Na závěr můžeme říci, že porodnictví je obor, který se sice stále vyvíjí, ale záleží také na lidech, kteří pracují v tomto oboru. Když se zdravotníci nebudou držet pokroku, budou zarputilí a budou se držet starých metod, je možné, že další rozvoj bude zpomalený, minimálně zkomplikovaný. Jelikož bude váznout důvěra žen v jejich schopnosti.

Abstract:

The Bachelor thesis is about childbirth and development into the 21st century. Main Objective: The aim of the bachelor's thesis was to find out what options women have and how they experience their pregnancy, childbirth and the puerperium. Methodology: The method of thematic analysis was used for the exploratory survey, which was chosen due to the smaller group of participants. The information was gathered through a semi-structured interview with five women who gave birth in the 20th or 21st century. Individual interviews were recorded and transcribed into Microsoft Word using literal transcription. A detailed analysis of the text was then performed. The method of interpretive phenomenological analysis was chosen. Results: Based on the data analysis, categories and subcategories were determined. Four categories were chosen: pregnancy, maternity and care, childbirth and the puerperium. The feelings of women and their experiences with pregnancy, childbirth and the puerperium were ascertained. From the data obtained, it is possible to deduce the progress that has taken place in those few years in obstetrics and also what has not changed. Conclusion: In conclusion, we can say that obstetrics is a field that is still evolving, but it also depends on the people who work in this field. If health professionals do not stick to progress, are stubborn and follow old methods, it is possible that further development will be slowed down, minimally complicated. Because women's confidence in their abilities will be stuck.
