Abstract:
The purpose of this master thesis is to analyze the motive of exclusion and solitude in the works of Edwidge Danticat. The thesis is divided into several parts, in which it gradually addresses the themes of exclusion and solitude, followed by the author's life in the context of her time. Cílem této diplomové práce je analyzovat motiv vykořenění a samoty v dílech Edwidge Danticat. Práce je rozdělena do několika částí, ve kterých se postupně věnuje tématům vykořenění a samoty, následuje autorčin život v kontextu její doby. Další část se zabývá realitou života na Haiti. A nakonec přichází rozbor děl Adieu mon frere, Apres la danse a Le briseur de rosée.
