Economic comparison of grass seeds and cereals production in conventional system of farming

Abstract:

Tato práce má za cíl srovnat z ekonomického hlediska produkci travních osiv a obilovin. Teoretická část práce se zabývá vývojem travního semenářství v České republice. Je popsán stav množitelských ploch, druhové spektrum a dosažené výnosy trav pěstované na semeno. Dále se práce věnuje technologickým aspektům výroby travních osiv, popisuje příznivé podmínky pro pěstování travosemenných porostů a poukazuje na potřebné znalosti v agronomických postupech. Další část práce charakterizuje vybrané travosemenné kultury a ozimou pšenici, které byly sledovány ve dvou sklizňových letech ve vybraném zemědělském podniku. V praktické části práce byl zjištěn příspěvek na úhradu fixních nákladů pěstování porostů jílku mnohokvětého italského (průměr za oba sledované roky 12 598,5 Kč/ha) a srhy laločnaté (15 504,6 Kč/ha) v porovnání s porosty ozimé pšenice (3 055,6 Kč/ha). Ekonomická analýza porovnává hrubou rentabilitu produkce travních osiv (průměr za obě travosemenné kultury 42,6 %) a ozimé pšenice (10,7 %). Z výsledků vyplývá, že produkce travních osiv je pro zemědělský podnik mnohem rentabilnější. Travosemenné kultury, i přes svoji náročnost na pěstování, dokáží příznivě ovlivňovat ekonomiku zemědělského podniku a dlouhodobým pěstováním mohou být mnohem výnosnější než obilniny.

Abstract:

The goal of this work is to compare production of grass seeds and grains from economic point of view. The theoretical part deals with the development of seed growing in the Czech Republic. It describes the condition of propagating areas, spectrum of species and achieved profits of grass grown for seed. It also deals with technological aspects of grass seed production, as well as ideal conditions for growing grass-seed vegetation. It points out to necessary knowledge in the procedures of agronomics. Another part of thesis deals with grass-seed cultures and winter wheat, which were observed in two harvesting years in a selected agricultural company. In a practical part, we found an allowance for financing fixed expenses of growing Italian ryegrass (average of both years observed 12 598,5 CZK/ha) and orchard-grass (15 504,6 CZK/ha) compared to the growths of winter wheat (3 055,6 CZK/ha). Economic analysis compares gross profitability of grass seeds in two harvesting years (average of both grass-seed cultures 42,6 % and winter wheat 10,7 % The results show that it is more profitable for an agricultural company to produce grass seeds. Grass-seed cultures can favorably influence economy of an agricultural company even though they are more demanding for growing. They can also be more profitable in long-term growing than grains.
