Current state and possible changes in environmental education at grammar schools

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá výukou průřezového tématu environmentální výchova s ohledem na možnosti její integrace do výuky geografie na gymnáziích. První část práce obsahuje popis současné koncepce a podoby environmentálního vzdělávání v České republice. V rámci zjištění současného stavu výuky EV proběhlo také dotazníkové šetření mezi žáky. Jeho výsledky tvořily, vedle závěrů o současném stavu výuky environmentální výchovy, podklad pro tvorbu čtyř výukových aktivit ve druhé části práce. Aktivity cílí na komplexní rozvoj žáků v oblasti dovedností, znalostí, ale také postojů a hodnot. Tematicky jsou zaměřeny na životní prostředí města, environmentální dopady zemědělství a problematiku vzniku a řešení environmentálního konfliktu. Součástí výukových aktivit je i metodický návod pro učitele. Práce obsahuje rovněž popis testování jedné z aktivit, které bylo uskutečněno v rámci distanční výuky.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the teaching of cross-curricular subject environmental education with respect to its integration into the teaching of geography at grammar schools. The first part of the thesis includes the description of current philosophy and practice behind environmental education in the Czech Republic. A questionnaire research method among the students has been carried out in order to specify the current practice of environmental education teaching. The results from the questionnaire research, along with the conclusions about the current practice of teaching, has been used as a basis for making of four teaching activities in the second part of the thesis. The teaching activities target at complex development of students in the areas of skills, knowledge, but also opinions and values. Thematically, they are aimed at living conditions in a city (on the example of the city of Brno), the environmental impacts of agriculture, and the issue of making and dealing with any environmental conflicts. The teaching activities also include methodical instructions for teachers. The thesis also contains a description of testing one of the activities which was done during the distance teaching.
