The use of horses for children’s summer activities

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se věnuje využití koní při letních táborech pro děti. Součást teoretické části je rešerše na téma volného času, charakteristiky nejčastěji využívaných plemen. Stručně je popsán výcvik mladého koně, jeho příprava na obsednutí a základní dovednosti. Byl proveden průzkum v oblasti táborů ze stran účastníků i organizací. Z odpovědí bylo mimo jiné zjištěno, že polovina organizací nezahrnuje do aktivit s dětmi a koňmi práci ze země. Využívaná plemena jsou rozmanitá, stejně jako věkové kategorie koní. Účastníky táborů jsou nejčastěji děti ve věku 12–14 let. V příloze jsou fotografie z táborů u vybraných organizací.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis is dedicated to the use of horses in summer camps for children. There is a research on the topic of leisure time and characteristics of the most commonly used breeds in the theoretical part. The training of a young horse, preparation of it for breaking and basic skills are briefly described. A survey was conducted on camp sites with both participants and organizations. Research showed that half of organizations omit working from the ground in their activities with children and horses. The breeds used are diverse, as well as the age categories of horses. The participants of the camps are most often aged 12 to 14. Photos from the camps at selected organizations are attached.
