The influence of internet addiction on pupils' attention

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce analyzuje závislost žáků na internetu a vztah mezi závislostí na internetu a koncentrací pozornosti žáků. Prostřednictvím dotazníku závislosti na internetu IAT a testu koncentrace pozornosti proběhlo dotazování se žáky střední školy AGC a. s. Teplice ve věku 16-21 let. Výsledky analýzy odhalily, že nebyla prokázána u žáků vážná závislost na internetu, ale pouze střední závislost, a to 5 %. Sledováním jednotlivých položek testu IAT jsme zjistili, že žáci jsou nejvíce ohrožení v oblasti očekávání (anticipace) a zanedbávání společenského života až 43 % žáků. Naproti tomu vztah závislosti mezi žáky jednotlivých oborů nebyl prokázán, ale u testu koncentrace pozornosti byly zaznamenány významné rozdíly napříč obory. Dále jsme při analýze zjistili, že je významný rozdíl v koncentraci pozornosti u dívek a chlapců, ale u testu IAT nikoli. Nicméně jsme zjistili, že jsou významné rozdíly ve vztahu závislosti na internetu a koncentrací pozornosti. Žáci, kteří jsou ohrožení závislostí na internetu mají problémy s koncentrací pozornosti, což může být zapříčiněno nedostatečnou činností mozku v důsledku závislosti.

Abstract:

The Bachelor theasis analyses the pupil´s addiction to Internet and the relation between the addiction to Internet and pupil´s attention. In the form of the questionnaire of pupil´s addiction to Internet and the attention test, questioning with AGC high school pupils in the age of 16-21, was realised. The results of this analysis revealed, that no serious addiction to Internet was prooved, but only middle addiction, in fact 5 %. By observing the individual questions in the IAT test we realised, that the pupils are endangered in the area of expectation and neglecting the social life - up to 43 % pupils. On the contrary, the relationship between the pupils of different branches was not prooved, but in the attention test there were significant differences in all branches noticed. Further more, we realised in the analyses, that the significant difference is in the attention of girls and boys, but it was not revealed in the test. Nevertheless, we realised, that there are significant differences in the relation to Internet addiction and attention- concentration, that can be caused by unsufficient brain activity as the addiction consequence.
